The week the hubby and I began the trek home to Florida from our baseball season in Pennsylvania. To be honest. I was sick with a cold, exhausted from packing and depleted emotionally.

As we wound our way through mountainous terrain, I gazed at the wonder of God’s work. My mental state changed. In seeing God’s creative work on the horizon, I thought about these miraculous feats as He spoke them in existence. His every thought and emotion creating such spectacular sights has been changed over the years by weather, but remain His breathtaking design.

In the beginning of Genesis, we read about the six days God created the heavens and the earth and all the things in them. He spoke them into existence. His great detail and determinations are amazing. He created each with mindfulness of usage. How they would exist and coexist.

Then He made us.

“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”                                                                                                                                    Genesis 1:26-28

He made us in their image. Father. Son. Holy Spirit.

He made us powerful human spirits, reflecting their nature. We were made to prosper, reproduce and take charge!

Wow! That blows my mind.

I need to remember this as I gaze in the mirror and criticize how I look.

I need to remember this when I doubt the value of my existence.

I need to remember this when I lack the confidence of my place and purpose on this earth.

We were created in the image of God. It is our responsibility to live life to the fullest honoring and glorifying Jesus.

How does being made in the image of God change the way you look in the mirror? See your value? Your purpose?

Remember this…YOU were created by God, reflecting His character, with His blessing!
